KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- New concern from the Environmental Protection Agency has the coal industry on the offensive.

Monday in Kanawha County, a coal company welcomed local politicians inside to show the process of supplying America's energy product. Among the invited was West Virginia Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito.

"Everyone against us," Rocky Hackworth, the General Manager of Pritchard Mining said. "People don't know. Think (we) get electricity from (a) light switch. Don't realize what it takes to mine a ton of coal for West Virginia, United States."

So they're opening up the mountains they've dug into to try to change the perception. They showed a partially reclaimed site and one that was fully reclaimed in the mid-1990s.

West Virginia Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito (R) says she'd like every member of Congress to see what's out in the coal fields, before they act on what's known as "cap and trade" legislation.

"Cap and trade" legislation would limit the greenhouse gas emissions and the Congresswoman believes could lead to higher energy costs and job losses in the industry.

plan. What does he expect these workers to do?

What kind of energy is he for? He's spoken out against off shore drilling, drilling on the slopes of Alaska, against nuclear power plants.

Obama's plans don't seem to help solve our energy needs, reduce dependence on foreign oil or help the economy by closing an industry, many companies and losing millions of jobs.

I am so tired of all you LEFT WING NUTS just regurgitating the same old crap that the fly-by-media news CNN, MSNBC, ABC ,CBS keep reporting not one of those groups will air a report that shows McCain/Palin in a favorable light. They continue to dismiss all of the facts that Obama is nothing but a liar and a cheat and he has stolen this election.
Just doing a little research you can see that while a state senator Barrack Hussein Obama’s Voting record was nothing but yes yes yes to raise taxes, start more welfare projects and in effect has ruined the economy of the state of Illinois. They are 42nd of 50 in education, the third or forth in highest debt for a state. So what do you think he will do to our total economy!!
Poor Hillary and I am not a supporter of hers but she was railroaded and had her nomination stolen from her but that goes back to the stupid way the dems decide on a candidate but just do a little research and you will see how he stole the nomination from her. ie….. his supporters locking the doors early at the caucuses and bringing bus loads of supports from other areas and allowing them to vote.
If we elect this man I am leaving this great country and so will many others including those that own companies that employee many of us or they will just go out of business because spreading the wealth around leaves no monies for expansion!
