Dairy chiefs aim to take foot off gas - The Canberra Times

The United States dairy industry wants to engineer the ''cow of the future'' to pass less gas in a project aimed at cutting the industry's greenhouse gas emissions by 25per cent by 2020.

US Dairy and Dairy Management Inc's Innovation Centre chief executive Thomas Gallagher said the cow project aimed to reduce intestinal methane, the single largest component of the dairy industry's carbon footprint.

The initiative's leader, Rick Naczi, said one area to be explored by the project was modifying the dairy cows' feed so they produce less methane.

How much of a difference does your school of graduation matter in getting a job in finance industry?

I am going to be a finance major and I am deciding between University of Miami (FL), Boston College, Wake Forest, Notre Dame (assuming I get in), and Wisconsin. Is one beneficial over another based on reputation in the industry? How much of a difference does it make?

if your goal is Wall Street, it might make a huge difference. Ask the recruiters for each school if they have an alumni branch in Wall Street (or in the industry you're interested in).

off hand, I'd guess BC has strongest alumni network of this lot. Seem to recall vague rumor that Fidelity Investments in Boston likes BC grads -- and could be wrong about that.
