Since the hammer fell, a growing legion of support has gathered behind West Point's federal employees. Veterans, Army leaders and local officials have spoken out on their behalf, some writing strongly worded letters to Secretary of Defense Robert Gates.

At the rally Tuesday night, Rep. Maurice Hinchey, D-Hurley, called Gates the wrong man for the job and said President Obama made a mistake in keeping the Bush appointee on his staff. "People from the previous administration," he said, "are causing a lot of harm."

If Gates won't toss the privatization results, Hinchey and colleague Rep. John Hall, D-Dover Plains, say they'll pass legislation that blocks the study by prohibiting the Department of Defense from spending a cent on its implementation. Sens. Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, who are also Democrats, plan to do the same.

Congress already has outlawed any new A-76 studies, claiming that privatizing was costing taxpayers more and discriminates against women and minorities.

Need Advice on starting a small business in Georgia?

I am thinking about going into business for myself. I need advice on what type of formation I should go with (Sole Proprietorship or Limited Liability Company (LLC) ) I will be the only person involved. I will be providing an installation service.

Sole Proprietorship is more cost effective in the beginning. But for any situation a LLC is a better way to go- limits your PERSONAL liab.s .
Either way - make sure you have enough money to get started and several months of pay saved- I'm about 3 months into a massage therapy business and BARELY hanging on because i leaped before i could think of all the licenses and supplies i would need. It's tough in the beginning - good luck

How do I go by getting an SBA loan in Georgia for a small business?

I have a business plan ready for a Bike Shop.
Someone write something so I can give you 10 points....

Great. I need some points! SBA loans are just like regular business loans, with the exception being the government guarantees a large percentage of repayment to the bank if the borrower defaults. What that means to you is that you still have to meet the underwriting requirements of a traditional bank in order to be considered for this type of loan. The real fact of the matter is that you have to call a small business banker, tell him your plan and he will tell you right away what the likelyhood of the SBA funding your business will be. There are so many variables for these types of loans that some key questions will need be addressed before you'll have any idea of the likelyhood of financing.

A sidenote: Small Business Bankers are usually brutually honest about the likelyhood of thier prospective customers getting financing. If they shoot you down right away, it isn't because they don't like you or they think your business won't be profitable. They just know the underwriting so well that they don't want to waste your time by beating around the bush and giving you empty hope.

Where can I find a commercial kitchen for rent for a small catering business in Georgia?

Snellville, Lawrenceville, or Loganville areas would be best, but anywhere in Gwinnett or DeKalb counties would be great as well.

Try some of the larger churches. They often have commercial kitchen facilities, but use them sparingly, and may welcome the revenue.
