General Motors Corporation (NYSE: GM) may not be in the good graces of the government, but it looks like an Oklahoma City private equity firm still likes the look of at least one of the ailing automotive maker’s divisions.
Jennifer Threet, a spokeswoman for Black Oak Partners LLC, says that her company in collaboration with a group of Saturn dealerships, delivered a proposal to GM last week.
While the opening bid is still undisclosed at this point, we do know that if successful in their bid, Black Oak would sell GM vehicles through the 440 Saturn dealerships existing throughout the U.S. and Canada.
And if everything went well from there? Well, then it would consider adding fuel efficient models from other manufacturers.
But any kind of agreement is far off at this point, since GM spokesman Mike Morrissey was quick to say that: “It’s too early to speculate as to what the ultimate outcome is going to be.”
You’d think that the corporation would be happy to shovel off the profit bleeding division as soon as possible, but according to Morrissey, Black Oak isn’t the only bidder out there. In fact, there are multiple ones, though GM won’t disclose any of the others.

pWhat is the best type of life insurance package for someone like me who is supporting a young family?/p

Good question. The right kind of life insurance plan depends on a few factors: your personal financial goals, the immediate needs of your dependents should you suddenly pass away, your income, any financial obligations you might leave behind and any other similar circumstances./p
pFor people who are raising a family, sending kids to college, or paying mortgage and loans, it would be a good idea to get a Term life insurance policy. This is a type of life insurance that covers a person for a certain period of time. This is a great way of protecting your family or dependents from immediate financial hardship should you make an early exit./p
pA Term life insurance plan is also very simple and straightforward, offering pure life coverage and nothing else. There are no complicated features or investment options, so rates are far more affordable compared to any other type of life insurance plans that you can find. Coverage period could be anywhere from 10, 20 to 30 years./p
pThe only drawback of Term life is that it may be very expensive if you renew it, because youre already older by the time the policy expires. Also there is no lump sum of money waiting for you at the end of the term. If, however, youre looking for a way to secure your familys immediate future and until youre dependents are old enough to take care of themselves, then Term life coverage is the best way to go./p
pThe web is full of ways to get you the most affordable Oklahoma life insurance plans available. Using specialized websites called life insurance portals can give you access to the latest rates and offers currently in the market. In fact, this website is a good example of a life insurance portal and has a free life insurance quote search tool that you can take advantage...
Company called Glen Brook Investments Oklahoma City OK?
May 22, 2008 by Barbara | Posted in Personal Finance
Listen up folks, I just emailed the company to let them know that they are a fraud and I am going to take action against them. I just received their loan agreement and no I did not send them any money (I may be from GA, but did not fall off of a turnip truck). Yes, I also do qualify for a $5000 loan, but have to put up $930. If I had the $930 I wouldn't need a loan, but you see I do check out these companies for advance fee. Bottom line is that there not getting any money from me, not even 1 penney. So I have printed out the complaints from yahoo answers and their loan agreement and their website and will be filing this with the Attorney General in Oklahoma City, OK. I told them to get ready, the party has just begun. I doubt if you get your money back, but you never can tell especially if they might be facing jail time. Keep you posted.....from the mountains of Georgia.
Too bad you emailed them... if they really ARE working out of OK, you have given them a chance to run... I would have left them clueless... again, assuming they are in the US at all... I'm playing with a loan scammer that CLAIMS to be in your state, yet the IP shows up as Lagos... lol
Check out their IP (turn on full headers) on: http://www.nextwebsecurity.com/LocationTools.asp allows you to search for their IP... that will probably tell you WHERE they are located... Then forward a copy of their "loan application" to whomever they use for their email address... If it's an odd one (not yahoo, hotmail, gmail.com, etc that use abuse@___) try http://www.abuse.net/ to locate the proper place to forward the application to...
KUDOS to you for not falling to this worn out scam!

What's the fastest way to clear my bills or lower my mortgage payments?
Apr 20, 2007 by RTew1981 | Posted in Personal Finance
I have a lot of credit card debt, student loans and a mortgage from an investment property in Oklahoma that's vacant. I need help! Badly!
The best way to get rid of your debt is to focus on your needs and not wants. Sell everything you don't need and want. Focus on the simplicities and avoid the complexities. Next I would consolidate student loans, refinance your mortgage into either an interest only or 50 year loan with lower payments and move your high interest credit cards to lower or 0% interest cards. Remember, the key is to change your life style first. I hope this helps -- good luck!
