WYOMING -- A shuffle tied to closing two elementary schools will give Wyoming's Innovations Academy two new principals next fall.

TJ Restau and Bobbie Bentley, both assistant principals in the district's two middle schools, will take charge of the alternative high school as principal and assistant, respectively.

The contract for current Innovations Principal Kelly McEwen will not be renewed, and Teriena Schwartz, the assistant principal, will become a school social worker. Schwartz had been principal of Horizons Community High School until that campus closed last year.

Other changes stemming from the upcoming closing of Huntington Woods and Rogers Lane schools: Huntington Woods Principal Andrea van der Laan will take over at Parkview Elementary School and Rogers Lane Principal Kevin Murphy will replace Restau at Newhall Middle School. Parkview Principal Jesus Hernandez will become the Jackson Park Middle School assistant principal.

Teacher assignments still are pending, with 12 job cuts expected.
